Jessie Ware nominated for two Brit Awards
Jessie Ware’s star continues in the ascendancy as she picks up in the New Year where she left off in 2012, yesterday receiving a double nomination from the Brit Awards judges. Not only picking up recognition for her superb rise in the past twelve months with a ‘British Breakthrough Act’ nod, Jessie also finds herself in contention for the ‘British Female Solo Artist’ prize, alongside well established names such as Emeli Sandé and Amy Winehouse.
These nominations are just the latest in a long list of accolades for Jessie and her debut LP ‘Devotion’, which entered straight in to the Top 5 upon release in August of last year and has since gone on to be shortlisted for the Mercury Prize, as well as settling comfortably in to the upper ends of many ‘Albums of the Year’ lists in December.
A sold-out UK tour in November will be followed this Spring with a series of dates in March, kicking off in Cambridge on the 6th and culminating in a Shepherds Bush Empire double-header on the 13th and 14th. Next single ‘If You’re Never Gonna Move’ will be released on January 28th, through PMR Records.
