JO BARTLETT releases new solo album  ‘9 x 7’, now out 12 January 2015 on Strike Back Records. (album preceded by 24 November single ‘Dying Kiss’)    //

On 12 January 2015 Jo Bartlett (It’s Jo and Danny, The Green Man Festival, The Yellow Moon Band) is to release a new solo album ‘9 x 7’ on Strike Back Records (SBR210D).

Jo has been in bands and promoting gigs since she was a teenager. She and partner Danny Hagan released four albums as It’s Jo and Danny, from 2000 – 2005, as part of the folktronica movement that spawned Four Tet and The Beta Band. ‘has that autumnal, easy feeling that early ’70s songwriters Carole King and Carly Simon captured so well’ Mojo ****

Having founded The Green Man Festival in Wales in 2003 Jo continued to be at the forefront of the Freak Folk scene before forming her psychedelic instrumental quartet, The Yellow Moon Band. The track ‘Chimney’ featured on the Ubisoft game Rocksmith, the follow-up to Guitar Hero, alongside Radiohead, The White Stripes and The Rolling Stones. ‘The spirit of West Coast psychedelia is alive and well and living in The Yellow Moon Band’ The Independent ****

‘9 X 7’ will be preceded by the 24 November release of ‘Dying Kiss’ single, a remix of the album track.
