Joey Valence & Brae have today dropped their brilliant debut album, PUNK TACTICS. The fast-rising duo have also unveiled a video for focus track ‘RN’, following the news that they will be September’s Future Artist of the Month at BBC Radio 1. This follows a whirlwind tour of the UK this summer including JVB’s riotous sold-out date at London’s Garage, plus shows such as Reading & Leeds festival and Gunnersbury Park with Limp Bizkit, Pendulum and Kenny Hoopla. Today, the band have also confirmed a run of headline shows for early 2024, with general sale opening on September 15th.

A project born in a dorm room, released independently and now tearing up stages & airwaves worldwide, PUNK TACTICS throws you head-first into the exhilarating world of Joey Valence and Brae. The larger-than-life duo’s infectious energy and multi-media approach is aptly captured in the launch of focus track, ‘RN’: an anthemic banger about “feeling good right now”, setting a boisterous Wu-Tang-inspired beat over a fly-on-the-wall movie capturing JVB out on the road (and causing havoc).

Bursting with personality, humour and deeply accomplished musicianship, Joey Valence and Brae officially began recording and releasing music together less than 2 years ago. Their genre-breaking and era-bending sound draws on everything from the riotous rap of Beastie Boys and hardcore (Rage Against The Machine) to UK DnB and punk-rave (The Prodigy). Yet there is more to Joey Valence and Brae than making mischief: theirs is a completely modern, guerilla approach spanning the world of skating, gaming, BMX, street art and DIY culture as it’s been adopted by a new generation of misfits online. Live, the duo have quickly built an inclusive and incredibly engaged young audience, with their recent headline London show taking in everything from a stage invasion and a surprise live band (on album highlight ‘Street Pizza’) to an impassioned call-out for Greggs.

Joey Valence and Brae describe PUNK TACTICS as “a culmination of the last year of antics and art.” The boys’ goal is to one day unite the world in peace and love, but in the meantime they’ll be busy acquiring the largest Pokémon card collection of all time and continue building on the world around their DIY debut project. With over 100 million streams, 2 million monthly listeners and the sense, too, of an act just at the beginning of something very special, watch out for more from Joey Valence and Brae to follow soon.
