New York, NY (May 27, 2026) – Today, Gainesville, Florida singer-songwriter Jordan Burchel shares his latest single, Problems,” featured on his upcoming sophomore full-length album, With Everything Going On, due June 26. The track arrives in advance of this weekend’s With Everything Going On: A Music Festival, curated by Burchel, this Saturday, May 30 at Heartwood Soundstage, in Gainesville. Featuring local and regional artists, the event brings together a community of voices shaped by this place and moment. [Tickets on-sale HERE | Full line-up below].

Discussing “Problems,” Burchel notes that, “at some point, all the affordances we make to participate in society, to fit in, to show people we’re worthy in the conventional ways, come back on us. The system will abandon you. It almost has to. And when it does, who will you be then, and what will you do?

That’s the problem at the heart of ‘Problems’. We sell ourselves out in exchange for something. And then they take that something, too.”

Regarding this weekend’s festival, which shares the same name of his upcoming record, Burchel adds, “Both the album and festival came from the tension of making art in a chaotic, heavy world. The festival holds space for the doubt that creativity means much against the weight of everything, and the equally strong pull to show up, create, and share with our community. It’s an invitation to sit with that contradiction, to feel, and to let whatever catharsis we build together become the ground for meaningful participation in the world.”

Also, and this goes without saying, there will be face melting guitar solos, beers, and also not beers.”

With Everything Going On is an album about the cycle of gaining and losing understanding we experience throughout daily life. Across the album’s twelve tracks, Burchel monitors the health of his relationship to the cosmos, dancing between ignorance, rejection, and radical acceptance of its consultations. The album’s central premise feels true enough even if it can’t literally be verified: we don’t make our way through in a straight line, but rather in a series of recursive loops. Memory, emotion, and circumstance are folded into our subjective experience of the world then processed again and again.

Burchel’s mission with this music is to release both himself and his fans from the stress of these returns. The grasping and retracing, the seeking to understand then forgetting again, the uniting and dividing with others: none of it is a distraction from life. It is life. This is what the narrator grasps in opening track “Understanding, Now.” The daydream isn’t wasted time, it is our experience of time. He forgets soon after.

With Everything Going On is Burchel’s second full-length album, and took nearly a decade to mature. The earliest recordings on the finished project date back to 2016 and the early days of Trump’s first presidency, when Burchel was in his mid-20s. Those mid-20s drifted quickly into late 20s, which were then unceremoniously washed away in the pandemic. Then a marriage, then a beautiful daughter. You add that up and you get a decade. Burchel slowly brought the songs into their current form over that span of time, adding and subtracting; the net effect is pentimento with no clear single author. Some of the most impactful moments arise from collaboration between younger and older versions of Burchel: a father delivering the lyrics of a much younger man, with the benefit of knowledge.

The album was recorded in largely improvised spaces, both by Burchel himself, and collaborators spread across the world, including Dan Bailey, Andrew Goldring, Katara, Travis Atria, David Borenstein, Robert Edmonson, Chris Hillman, Sam Moss and Audrey Campbell.
