“Richly poetic songs of trauma and redemption, moving from almost unbearable fragility to confessional strength” – New York Times
She is a gifted writer whose images sting the senses, but there’s something particularly gripping about her voice. It communicates both grit and softness in its tone, trusting and world-weary all at once.Pitchfork
“…her rawness is comforting as it is unsettling as it is cathartic” – MOJO ****
“…Julien Baker’s just going to keep breaking our hearts until the end of time…” – Noisey

Fresh from her upcoming show on November 11th at London’s Union Chapel selling out, Julien Baker has announced further worldwide tour dates, including UK and Ireland shows added in Bristol, Leeds, Glasgow and Dublin. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, 19th July at 9 AM UK time. All dates can be found below.

Baker has been recording new material in her native Memphis, due to be released later in 2017 on Matador Records. In addition to selections from 2015’s widely acclaimed Sprained Ankle and 2017’s Funeral Pyre 7”, fans can expect a hefty dose of new music on this run of dates.

The first half of 2017 has already seen Baker tour worldwide, with headline shows across North America, Australia and Europe, as well as support slots for Conor Oberst (“stunned with her 30-minute opening set” – Consequence Of Sound) and The Decemberists (“a short, beautiful set of favorites from her 2015 debut” – Brooklyn Vegan), while a headline performance at London’s Bush Hall in June sold out within 24 hours.

Julien Baker’s latest 7” Funeral Pyre – her debut release for Matador Records – together with previously unreleased track B-side ‘Distant Solar Systems’, has recently earned critical acclaim from outlets including The New York Times, Stereogum, Pitchfork, MOJO, Entertainment Weekly, Noisey, DIY and more, and can be heard here. Baker’s heralded 2015 debut album Sprained Ankle is available digitally and was re-released by Matador physically worldwide (ex-U.S. and Australia) in March.
