Tune in tonight at 7pm ET for a live performance from Anna of the North and Katy Perry. Norwegian songstress, Anna of the North, will open the show with a performance and Q&A on BeApp + across all social platforms (YouTube, Twitter, Instagram Story and Facebook). Throughout the live stream, BeApp will take donations in-app from viewers across the world, with the Coca-Cola Foundation matching the donations dollar for dollar (or similar donation mechanism), resulting in 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Red Cross for those impacted by COVID-19.
BeApp is a new interactive streaming environment that is hosting 60 Days of artist streams on their platform, which has seen performances from Diplo, Bebe Rexha, Miguel and Lennon Stella, among others. It’s been a busy couple of months for Anna who recently won a Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Award) for her “Dream Girl” music video. “Dream Girl” is also featured in the Global Apple iPad Commercial and the track saw an overall streaming increase to 187% in its first week of airing. The track then got a fresh-take from Anna herself with “Dream Girl (Home Made)”.
The re-imagined track gives fans a taste of what to expect from Anna’s forthcoming Acoustic EP. Out this September, you can expect stripped back versions of Anna of the North favorites and new covers for a lo-fi, ethereal project that is perfect for dreaming up your own reality and dancing alone in your bedroom. Mere years ago, Anna was settled and working in a small shop whilst secretly harboring musical ambitions. Taking the advice of a stranger, she flew halfway across the globe, to Australia. There, her quiet dreams would slowly unravel into the sumptuous mood music we now know today as Anna of the North. From working with Tyler, the Creator (Anna lent her vocals to two tracks on ‘Flower Boy’) and Rejjie Snow to duetting with HONNE and playing with Anderson Paak, Anna is cementing herself as the pop star who has been hiding in plain sight.
