11 days. 200,000 people, thousands of bands. If you’re fortunate to be in Austin, Texas for SXSW this week, do yourself a favor and catch one of the shows where Knitting Factory Management’s Club Night will be performing. This noise-pop Oakland-based group was recently named as one of the best new bands of 2017 by Stereo Gum. You can catch them at any one of their shows at SXSW, and finally put an end to your question “What would Nine Inch Nails sound like as a pop band?” As Pitchfork says, “There’s no verse, no chorus, just forward momentum and lyrics that call for action.”

Redux: Traveler’s Rest Returns to Montana in August
Yes, you’ve heard this before but it bears repeating. Now that we’ve all recovered from seeing this years Coachella Headliners, it’s time to check out travel prices to Missoula, Montana, because The Decemberists are curating their second annual Travelers’ Rest Music Festival. It’ll be two days of epic Indie Music (in which The Decemberists themselves are playing two shows) that will also feature Death Cab for Cutie, Jeff Tweedy, Mavis Staples, Tune-Yards, I’m With Her, Lucy Dacus, and others.
The music will play on August 4th and 5th. Tickets are going fast, so snag yours here sooner rather than later.
