Instead of fighting over toys in the basement, this brother and sister formed an electro-acoustic duo (in the basement)…
New York based siblings Nic and Eliza Coolidge are KNOX, a project that pairs smoky vocal harmonies with equally hazy electronics. The duo have already worked with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Throwing Snow, and they’ve linked up with Boysnoize Records for their Thieving of Well EP. Today, Jay Z’s Life + Times premiered their sultry video “Redline” with an interview HERE and UK’s Mixmag exclusively revealed the Throwing Snow Remix of “Redline” (hear below).
Their sonic experiments land them somewhere between the taut, emotive beat-work of James Blake and the acoustically-powered atmosphere of Bon Iver.
Earlier, KNOX found themselves working with the likes of John Tejada, Throwing Snow, Paula Temple, Sasha, Maya Jane Coles, and Jori Hulkkonan, as well as being one of Red Bull Music Academy’s 2013 participants. “We are inspired by so much,” the band has said of their influences, “From the consequential sound events of walking down the street, to classical music, to industrial underground. We try to absorb as much as we can and emit what feels natural.”
