1st & 4th November
After their incendiary Glastonbury set and this year’s critically adored ‘TILT’ album, Confidence Man are one of the hottest tickets around – as proven when they sold-out two nights at KOKO in just two minutes. It’s easy to see why. Their heady cocktail of ultrapop and Balearic beats is delivered with full-force intensity.
30th September
KOKO Electronic continues with the legendary Madlib. Although a widely prolific and versatile hip-hop production master (Kanye West, Mos Def, Anderson .Paak), he considers himself to be a DJ first and a producer second. He’ll be joined by Sam Gellaitry, Donna Leake and Selassie TBC.
12th November
Another big KOKO Electronic night comes with a set from Jon Hopkins. Renowned for his ability to meld dancefloor-igniting techno with beautiful, blissful chillout, Hopkins has been hailed as one of the most vital electronic artists around. The night also features Daniel Avery, HAAi and Gabrielle Kwarteng.
4th November
KOKO Electronic also looks to a new generation of talent with Skin On Skin. The Australian producer and DJ has been on the rise for a while now, but his reputation really exploded with an intensely and unforgettable techno/drill Boiler Room set at the AVA Festival.
2nd September
September starts with a bang for KOKO Electronic with a set from drill’s finest MC Unknown T, who is renowned for delivering one of the genre’s biggest moments with ‘Homerton B’. The rest of the bill is just as essential, with the queen of the blends Manara plus Crazy Cousinz and Izzy Bozzy.
10th September
KOKO Electronic brings South Africa’s vibrant Amapiano scene to North London with the Drake-championed headliner and genre star Uncle Waffles. The night showed the versatility and depth of the genre with host Bernitazm introducing sets from Sha Sha, Ade Smilez and Nicky Summers.
22nd September
Overmono will hit KOKO on the back of their recent XL Recordings EP ‘Cash Romantic’. The Russell brothers mash-up all kinds of throwback UK electronic flavours – rave, trance, breakbeat, techno and more – into thrilling, cutting-edge club-ready soundscapes.
30th September
If you’ve discovered Obongjayar via his collabs with Little Simz, Octavian and Pa Salieu, you’ll find plenty more to inspire you via his own catalogue. He defies genre-categorisation, taking in influences from hip-hop, electronica, West Africa and spoken word, but his music is united by its uplifting, spiritually-leaning atmosphere.
