Chanukah in Israel
I can’t say how crazy it is but it is quite real. The amount of sirens I have heard, including Iron Dome explosions have been quite insane to experience first hand and realize how not normal it is for it to be ….normal (so soon!)
I have a quick run to do Shabbat at my new friend Claudia from Argentina who did the sweetest interview with me. My first published interview in Israel!
THIS WEEK SHORT RECAP
I learned what my new title may be… “Street Journalist.” Today I got to do a street interview in all Hebrew about Israel life with a Palestinian guy in Jaffa. only to sadly get it bumped and requested not to publish it. OY! I can only chalk it up to another time I practiced Hebrew. I went to Kiryat Tivon the other day and 7 teenagers from TikTok visited me! It was lovely! I gotta say so far the best Sufganiyot. is from there. The best show was this week, and that I had actually almost sold out a show (free show lol) in 2 days with 200 people !! This never has happened to me in my life so that was really fulfilling. I got to play a show for solidiers for the first time and can totally see my self serving in the IDF BBQ brigade. I have been asked back for my service! Ha.
Also, I must say I finally chatted and interviewed the Surf Guy of Jaffa, who is bringing together the world thru surfing. More to come! He told us about surfing in Gaza. <3
Oh and I’m on the cover of a newspaper called Maariv. Thanks god I went to Ulpan but Citizen Cafe can’t translate all this!
