Kris Menace feat Robert Owens – Trusting me (Compuphonic)

German born dancefloor master Kris Menace has moved on considerably since his days as a right hand man to Fred Falke & Alan Braxe. Since his debut solo long player, 2009’s ‘Idiosyncrasies’, he has forged a deep electro sound based on the bare bones of trance, not the awful sounds that pass as the trance sound of now, but the deeper strands of it from labels such as Superstition and early Hooj releases, a brand of trance with a bit of musical integrity.

This second single from his vocal album ‘Features’ contains the silky soul sounds of house music legend back with Menace going for an old school mellow house sound. The EP contains a borderline ridiculous eight remixes to chose from, Clinton Brown’s re-interpretation goes down a slinky sexy house sound. Penner & Muder go down a similar laidback route but none of the others either add to the original or do anything drastically

different to the original. 7/10
