It’s Kurt Cobain’s birthday, so here’s a (new) Nirvana cover

With today being Kurt Cobain’s birthday (and Aberdeen’s newly-coined “Kurt Cobain Day”), I wanted to share an awesome new Nirvana cover: Brooklyn band Dead Stars (who played 285 Kent as Nirvana last Halloween) recorded their take on “Old Age,” completing the seemingly unfinished song with big, distorted guitars & vocal harmonies.

Dead Stars’ version of “Old Age” just premiered w/ USA Today’s Pop Candy, and it’s available below.

The band is playing SXSW & will release a new LP this summer via Old Flame Records– more details on that soon! In the meantime, you can check out their latest ‘High Gain’ EP here.
