Kurt Vile and Nils Frahm are the latest artists to be added to Way Out West for the Swedish festival this August.
These two musical mavericks will be playing as part of the nightime programme, Stay Out West, which runs into the small hours in various venues and bars across Gothenburg, Sweden.
Also added today are rising pop star Seinabo Sey (at SOW too), whereas a new Red Bull Academy stage has been announced for the main WOW site at the leafy Slottsskogen park featuring Jamie xx, Pional and Studio Barnhus (feat Axel Boman, Kornél Kovács, Petter Nordkvist).
This follows on from previous recent line-up additions of Neneh Cherry with RocketNumberNine, Neko Case, Poliça, Seasick Steve, Rebecca and Fiona and Linda Pira, with Real Estate, Speedy Ortiz, Naomi Pilgrim and Emilie Nicolas joining the Stay Out West list.
All these new acts join an already impressive roll call of artists, with Outkast headlining the event along with Röyksopp & Robyn, Queens Of The Stone Age and The National. Neutral Milk Hotel, Janelle Monáe, Icona Pop, Bill Callahan, Darkside, Pusha T, Brody Dalle, Joey Bada$$, Mø, The Julie Ruin, Sharon Van Etten, Tinariwen and many other luminaries also appear at Way Out West’s leafy home in Slottsskogen, Gothenburg, Sweden 7th – 9th August.

WAY OUT WEST 2014 – 7-9 AUGUST. SLOTTSSKOGEN, GOTHENBURG.
Previous editions of Way Out West have witnessed star turns from St. Vincent, Kraftwerk, Solange, Tame Impala, Mogwai, The Knife and Odd Future throughout the day program. Stay Out West takes over Gothenburg at night, hosting the likes of Factory Floor, John Maus, Postiljonen, Swans and many other exciting names over recent years. Last year saw the festival expand further into Gothenburg during the day, including an exclusive dj set from Giorgio Moroder in addition to art exhibitions, film screenings and a hack day happening in the centre.
Alongside their excellent line-ups, Way Out West are also well-known for their nifty use of the latest technology and this year proves no exception. Additionally, Way Out West is an environmentally-conscious festival, not only for fitting resourcefully into the 137 hectares of beautiful woodland at Slottsskogen park but also for being the first European festival to have a vegetarian policy on site since 2012. Read more about that here.
