La La drops part 1 of ‘give yourself a try: the remixes’ on her own Brand New Records

part 1 features remixes from Tommy 2000, Denham Audio, DJ ADHD & Chloé Robinson, Beau Didier & Jaymie Silk

La La today releases part 1 of the remix album from her debut LP ‘give yourself a try’ on her own Brand New Records. La La’s give yourself a try: the remixes is a collection of reworkings from the established, rising and new stars of the electronic music world with part 1 seeing Tommy 2000, Denham Audio, DJ ADHD & Chloé Robinson, Beau Didier and Jaymie Silk contributing.

This was an unprecedented feat demonstrating La’s community of artists ready to jump in to take the reins on her debut releases’ reimagining. Running against the grain, no money changed hands, this was a labour of love for La La’s art world contacts. These remixes speak to La La’s long held practice of giving deserving producers their flowers, those who have been in the game for years, those making waves and those embarking on their journey. Each producer delivered their A-game, showing their respect for both La La’s craft and graft with the ten remixes sure to find their way into sound systems globally.

Part I of the LP starts with Tommy 2000 who delivers a wonky trip through analogue synths, LFOs and circling space. Tommy creates a dream like ambience, before dropping things deep into a warm blanket of sound. Denham Audio provides breakbeats that sit atop tight drums and a warm bass to allow the vocal line to be echoed across the tracks floor. This groove-laden romp balances original elements with Denham’s signature percussive sound. DJ ADHD & Chloé Robinson bring sirens and bass-rumbles build until a groove-laden bass bounce lands on your lap. Vocal chops interject building hats and percussion, laying down a serious vibe. Beau Didier hit straight out the gates with a classic Didier party vibe, low bass and flaming kick allowing the metallic elements of pipin’ to shine. Synth stabs placate the background while percussive pockets drive the hard groove forward. Jaymie Silk hosts acid warbles and jazz filters that sit atop a heavy kick, with minimalist party vibes. Jaymie’s vocals announce this is what we do, all night long and the Saxophone penetrates through the club filler to round off the first batch of stellar remixes.

La La’s give yourself a try: the remixes – part 1 is out today on Brand New Records with part 2 dropping 31st May
