LIFE share new video for ‘In Your Hands’ – announce European dates

LIFE continue their stellar 2017 with a new video for latest single In Your Hands. The video offers a glimpse into the LIFE live experience. The raucous and heavily political nature of their shows has seen them lauded by the likes of NME, DIY – with Steve Lamacq recently making their upcoming debut ‘album of the week’

Everyone is angry nowadays. The internet is awash with anger and people on the streets are angry. LIFE are no exception, they are the untapped anger of the British working class in 2017. Their first single from the album Euromillions was a piece-de-resistance, provocatively released on the day of Donald Trump’s inauguration – taking aim and swiping hard at the so called ‘alt right’. “You have the right to bear arms if you’ve got the right coloured arms” bellowed lead singer Mez Sanders-Green over a cacophony of noise.

LIFE are based in Hull, the UK City of culture of 2017. The City is under added scrutiny but there is fear in the air. Mez, one of two front-line youth workers, a mental health worker and a lad in a call centre from Hull know about real life. “Real life sounds like panic. Real life is anxious. Real life bleeds out fast like a social media feed. This is our take on popular music.” He says

The album was produced by Grammy award winner, Ian Dowling at The Fish Factory. It’s a blistering, thunderous album, a quintessentially punk record in the spirit of Sham 69. Second single It’s In Your Hands (the first track on the LP) is indicative of the flavour to come. The anger, the restlessness, the tension.

DIY and independent to their core, the band describe the album like this “Popular Music sounds like panic and anxiety, it’s the sound of shitting it about whatever happens next week, about what you can weigh through on the self-checkout to get your beans cheaper. It’s an LP made up of the psyche of everyone who can see they’re getting fucked and there’s a lot of people getting fucked right now.”

LIFE are Mez Sanders-Green, Mick Sanders, Loz Etheridge, Stewart Baxter.
