Born in England, Lily Lambert is a part-Irish, part-Welsh songstress, who relies her unique musical abilities with ethereal vocals and an original sound.
Marked by the music bug from the very start, Lambert followed her dreams to New York City to pursue music after graduating Law School with Honors. While performing in a variety of NY musicals and Off-Broadway productions, Lambert continued to pen her own original music backstage, in rehearsals and in audition waiting rooms.
Gradually all her hard work paid off and her debut, Life Of Lily as well as subsequent releases gained her international acclaim. Accolades for her work include, IMEA awards for Folk Album of the Year in 2014, Folk Artist of the Year in 2015, Folk Song of the Year in 2016, a Global Music Award for her Holiday Album, and an Akademia Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album.
With each subsequent release, Lambert found she is able to explore a fuller sound that gravitates between Folk Rock and Country.
With a style that is undressed and personalized, Lambert finds little use for embellishments in her productions.
On her new single “Oh La La La,” Lambert’s definite and simple style shines through with an evidently great folk and acoustic cadence prevalent throughout the track. Accompanied by the ukulele, the sole sound of vocals and shear simplicity of the lone instrumentation makes up for a resonating quality on the sparse arrangements.
Lambert’s ethereal vocal harmonies and stripped down production really adds a spark of life with its uplifting vibe and positive outlook and message. 7.8/10
