“If the absence of breezy new retro-cool music…has left you feeling a bit empty in 2015, allow us to introduce you to New York’s Lily McQueen” – Idolator

Lily McQueen has released her self-titled debut EP via Concierge Records. In celebration, McQueen will play a special NYC release show tonight, July 23rd, at Elvis Guest House. She has shared a stream of the EP track “You’re Not Ready for My Love”: a ballad about learning to let go of unrequited love.

McQueen recently released the music video for her debut single, “Miss You Tonight”. Directed by Sofia Geld and McQueen, the video evokes the fantasy of bedroom dancing as McQueen dances alone in an empty space with lasers. The imagery underscores the effervescent and anthemic track’s bittersweet memories of a lost first love. Watch the video here:

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Lily McQueen started performing at her college upstate in an all-female country band. The girls covered artists from Bonnie Raitt to The Band along with original ballads. Lily returned to New York City where she combined her love for the supernova female musicians of the 70s and 80s with the radio pop of her youth. Over the past two years, between Los Angeles and home, she developed a repertoire of songs exploring nostalgia’s ability to to alter our memory. Her songs bring us back to electric teenage nights, blasting the car radio in the summer, and lost loves. The result is her self-titled EP, which reveals an artist whose anthemic songs never sacrifice fun or intelligence.

Concierge Records was founded by W. Andrew Raposo, a longtime contributor to enumerable bands in New York’s music world and nightlife. Upon meeting Lily, he was refreshed by her streamlined compositions and philosophy of what contemporary pop music can be. The Lily McQueen EP will be the label’s flagship release.

The Lily McQueen EP is available now at all digital retailers.
