LION BABE AND SEINABO SEY ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINE UK TOUR
MAY 2015
New York alternative soul duo Lion Babe and Swedish electro soul songstress Seinabo Sey have confirmed a joint headline UK tour this spring.
Lion Babe will be hitting the road in the UK for the very first time. The duo comprised of singer/songwriter and performance artist Jillian Hervey and instrumentalist and producer Lucas Goodman – have debuted the stunning, must-watch video for their new single ‘Wonder Woman’, produced by the Grammy Award-winning Pharrell Williams with additional production by Luca.
Oozing with raw energy, the incredible and empowering ‘Wonder Woman’ (out May 3rd on Outsiders Recorded Music (Universal Music)) serves as the follow-up to the critically acclaimed songs ‘Treat Me Like Fire’, ‘Jump Hi’ and ‘Jungle Lady’, taken from the band’s self-titled debut EP which was released at the end of last year. Lion Babe draw on an eclectic mix of influences for their sonic and stunning visuals, which mirror the rich melting pot of cultures of New York. Ahead of their eagerly anticipated debut album, they are fresh from being added to Radio 1’s ‘In New Music We Trust’ playlist, as well as being named one of 1Xtra’s – where they reached the A-list with both ‘Treat Me Like Fire’ and ‘Jump Hi’ – ‘Hot 4 2015’.
Seinabo Sey has captured the attention of music critics worldwide with her hypnotic, unique voice. Her debut single Younger catapulted Seinabo Sey to the very frontlines of contemporary pop music and attracted considerable attention both in her native Sweden as well as internationally at the time of its release. For Madeleine (named after and dedicated to Sey’s mother) is the continuation, an EP of five songs produced by Magnus Lidehäll where Seinabo Sey has worked with some of Sweden’s and the world’s most talked-about songwriters at the moment, besides Lidehäll, Vincent Pontare, Salem Al Fakir and Oskar Linnros.
Known for her magical live performances she manages to convey more as a live performer than artists with far more experience manage to convey during a career. Topping both Hype Machine and Shazam Charts last year, she is one of the brightest new artists to watch out for in 2015.
