Hotly tipped 25-year old Londoner JONES has today shared new music, in the form of a cover of Calvin Harris’ hit single ‘How Deep Is Your Love‘. Premiering on Pigeons & Planes, who say she “transforms it into a beautiful and thoughtful acoustic number”, you can listen in full here.
2015 saw JONES make her star-making debut on Later… With Jools Holland; named as one of Spotify’s Spotlight Artists For 2016 and even gain a fan in Sam Smithwho said her music was “f*cking beautiful”.
JONES brings a fresh tongue to a classic style, blending polished electronic sounds with raw, organic elements, echoing her modern musical loves. Her single ‘Hoops‘ (co-produced by rising talents XO and Josh Record) is out now on 37 Adventures, and includes an official remix from 19-year old Austrian producer salute. ‘Hoops‘ is a gutsy, introspective, innovative track about heartbreak and is real in a way few other songs even try to be. It is taken from her debut album ‘New Skin’, due for release Spring 2016. Watch the video here.
Raised in east London by her soul-loving mum on Stevie and Luther, at an early age JONES began to turn her most private diary entries into songs. Since then JONES has been gradually letting others into the world she’s created; namely, XL’s resident producer Rodaidh McDonald and multi-faceted Ninja Tune artist Raffertie (on Indulge), and alt-pop mastermind (and brother of Jai) A. K. Paul (on You).
