Little Simz ‘Stillness In Wonderland’ > Physical album release > Out today

Little Simz’s sophomore studio album, Stillness in Wonderland, is now available worldwide on CD. It includes the bonus track ‘Our Conversations’ featuring BADBADNOTGOOD and is available to purchase here.
The physical release tops off an eventful quarter that included Little Simz’ sold-out Stillness in Wonderland North American Tour, two performances supporting Ms Lauryn Hill, a successful SXSW run that included a Fader Fort performance, and an intimate Tiny Desk Concert performance with NPR.
Unsurprisingly, despite coming out at the very tail end of the year, digitally on Dec. 16, 2016, Stillness in Wonderland was titled ‘Best Album of 2016’ by notable music critics, including NPR, Pigeons and Planes and The Fader. With over 5M collective digital streams, “Stillness in Wonderland plunges the listener into a multitude of different settings: the feel good ambition of “Wide Awake,” the claustrophobic paranoia of “King Of Hearts,” the hopeless melodies of “Poison Ivy.” (Clash) True to its name, an homage to Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale, Alice in Wonderland, “much of Stillness in Wonderland floats in a haze fit for a hookah-spewing caterpillar with a short temper and sharp tongue… with Little Simz dropping in just long enough to deliver a truly fantastic record that defies the expectations people have of unsigned artists. (Pretty Much Amazing)
Little Simz has done and continues to take pride in doing things on her own terms, leading the charge as one of the most exciting independent hip-hop artists (and proper example) of her generation. Read her takeaway on “How To Launch A Music Career Without Compromising Your Integrity” in a recent profile with The Fader here; watch her recap her career start at 12-years-old on Hot 97’s Ebro in the Morning here; and watch her speak about the importance of being a ‘real model’ versus a ‘role model’ and not being defined by gender roles on London’s Channel 4 news here.
Stillness In Wonderland is a story of personal evolution, finding faith within and tackling self-doubt, embracing your instincts and letting your intuition steer you toward your personal paradise, whilst at the same time attempting to avoid the distractions, complacency and pitfalls of “Wonderland”. Shrugging off her coyness, Little Simz divulges into the tug-of- war in relationships, the strive for pride and awareness, and the desire for greater influence, making Stillness In Wonderland one of her most revealing releases to date.
