DAN TOMBS – Based in Norwich, Dan Tombs is a visual artist working with some of today’s most vital emerging musicians. He has recently created visuals for, and directed live shows by the likes of Jon Hopkins, Gold Panda, TOY, Factory Floor, I Break Horses and East India Youth.

Dan has also produced music videos for Tim Burgess, East India Youth and Factory Floor. Additionally, he has also worked with the Tate Modern, The ICA, All Tomorrow’s Parties and Adidas.

Initially specialising in glitched-out video art with an 8-Bit aesthetic, Dan has frequently created and performed live visual projections at clubs, galleries and music festivals around the world. For Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia 2014, Dan will be presenting an exclusive new installation work, which fuses elements of his practice with an exploration of the somewhat idiosyncratic, local v global tension at the heart of today’s psychedelic renaissance.

CINEMA PROGRAMME – TUSK Festival was born in Newcastle in 2011 and has rapidly gained a fiery reputation for its extremely diverse curatorial chops and for presenting acts that rarely or never play in the UK. Their only remit: does the music excite them?

They deny genre and get excited by artists, dealing in all forms across extreme Japanoise, North African dance music, chemically-altered schlock n roll, table-top improv, repetitive bleeps, hardcore skronk and more.

TUSK also features exhibitions, workshops, installations and their revered film programme, curated by Hasan Gaylani and Joe Murray. For this year’s Liverpool International Festival Of Psychedelia, Hasan and Joe present you with a taste of TUSK via their carefully assembled program of big-screen psychedelic wonders.
