The first ever European Lollapalooza in Berlin can today announce acts including UK stars THE LIBERTINES, BATILLE and SAM SMITH for the festival on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th September 2015 at Templehof Airport.
Lollapalooza celebrates Europe premiere with exclusive gigs by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Libertines, Sam Smith and Seeed
Berlin eagerly awaits the arrival of a brand-new festival highlight this September. The legendary Lollapalooza will take over the monumental landmark of Tempelhof Airport.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ only performance in Europe, The Libertines will perform songs from their new album, Grammy- and Brit Award-winning artist Sam Smith’s only festival performance, and Seeed’s only Germany show are just a few of the many confirmed shows. On top, one last remaining main stage headliner will be unveiled in early June.
LONDON, March 2, 2015 – Berlin is getting ready for the music highlight of 2015. The world-renowned Lollapalooza festival has chosen the German capital to become its European stronghold after celebrated editions in Brazil, Argentina and Chile. Staying true to its genre-spanning philosophy, the brand-new “Lolla” spin-off will boast a line-up at the historic Tempelhof Airport that won’t leave you begging for more.
Main stage whoppers so far include Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Libertines, Sam Smith, Seeed, Belle & Sebastian, Fatboy Slim and Bastille. In June, everyone will be in for a massive surprise when one more headliner will be announced. This remaining act might have been the first one to be booked, yet it will be the last one to be revealed during a grand event.
Focusing on a diverse mix of international acts and legendary performers straight from the nation’s capital, local heroes like Seeed, Beatsteaks, and the whiz-kids Mighty Oaks have been confirmed to
make an appearance.

Continuing the clash of genres, star-DJ Boys Noize will conquer the stage with an exciting premiere of his own: the Germany-wide launch of his new Dog Blood project, conceived with EDM-superstar Skrillex. Chvrches, Ms Mr, Everything Everything, Glass Animals, Crystal Fighters, Wolf Alice will perform and FFS (Franz Ferdinand & Sparks) will take the festival stage for the first time with a symbiosis of synth rock and British indie sounds.
While dance-stars and chart-favorites like Clean Bandit, Martin Garrix, and Robin Schulz will duke it out on “Perry’s Stage,” critic-favorites like Tame Impala, Run The Jewels, Little Dragon, and Hot Chip will take on “Lolla’s” alternative stage.
With four stages, the unique festival experience for the little ones, Kidzapalooza, glittering highlights from the worlds of fashion and art as well as the hustle and bustle of Berlin’s urban charm, Lollapalooza’s cross-genre music format surely is an entirely new and unique addition to Germany’s festival landscape.
Additional acts, as well as program details, will be announced over the coming weeks.
