Jalapeno Records are proud to present their newest signing – London based soul sensation – Izo FitzRoy and her debut single – Reckoning.

Reckoning sees Izo deftly introduce her raw bluesy vocals and jazz tinged keys over a bouncing funk jam that oozes attitude and struts its way into your ears. Her heartfelt song writing and gutsy delivery is reminiscent of the female blues greats as her lyrics meditate on the consequences of one’s actions over the tight grooves produced by industry heavyweight – Dr Rubberfunk.

Having honed a unique signature soul sound by leading gospel choirs, collaborating with the cream of New Orleans jazz and blues musicians and touring America’s Deep South dive bar circuits, Izo’s vocal style is direct, powerful and uplifting. Further adding to her vocal arsenal she is backed up by gospel backing singers who combine seamlessly to create beautiful harmonies and bring a timeless quality to the records.

Her music has taken her across the world, touring her gospel choir and working with the Grammy award winning Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentlemen in New Orleans before penning her debut album ‘Skyline’ whilst living there. The album showcases her honest lyricism and deep soul, rhythm & blues, jazz and gospel influences even further in a fantastic collection of tracks that are equally danceable and thought provoking.

Reckoning is the first single taken from the album ‘Skyline’ due for release early in 2017.
