THE HOWLIN’ FRINGE!

A HAIRY LIVE MUSIC AND COMEDY ALL-DAYER @ PENICUIK TOWN HALL, SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2015
TICKETS ON SALE 10AM, THURSDAY, MAY 21 FROM LOSTMAP.COM/HOWLINFRINGE

Lost Map Records are thrilled to announce a brand new hairy live music and comedy all-day happening for summer 2015: Lost Map’s Howlin’ Fringe! at Penicuik Town Hall in Penicuik, Midlothian on Saturday, August 8, 2015.

A satellite and little sister event to Lost Map’s Howlin’ Fling! Festival – which debuted on the label’s home of the Isle of Eigg last July to a rave reception, and will return in the summer of 2016 – it promises to pack all the incredible sounds, belly laughs, quality food and drink and miscellaneous surprises that have become synonymous with parties promoted by Scotland’s finest fledgling independent record label, as it gets set to turn two years old. Tickets go on sale at Lostmap.com/howlinfringe next Thursday, May 21 at10AM, and are anticipated to sell-out quick if demand for the Howlin’ Fling! – which sold-out in a matter of hours – is anything to go by.

Lost Map Records Director Johnny ‘The Pictish Trail’ Lynch explains the thinking behind the Howlin’ Fringe! “Outside of our biennial Howlin’ Fling! bonanza on the Isle of Eigg, we always keep a busy calendar,” he says. “Since forming Lost Map in August 2013, the collective has gone from strength to strength, and we’ve encouraged and supported our bands to host events throughout the year; hence our involvement with Kid Canaveral’s Xmas Baubles every December, the semi-regular Randolph’s Leap I Can’t Dance To This Music events, and Insect Heroes’ monthly Apocalypso! club nights. Whereas those events tend to happen in the big cities, with Howlin’ Fringe! I’m keen to bring the party to different towns, those that exist on the outskirts, on the fringes. Maybe a couple of times a year, even? If you want us to bring the party to your town, get in touch!”

Line-up announcements for the Howlin’ Fringe! will be staggered across several weeks after tickets have gone on sale. As standard at Lost Map events, the bill will be a mixture of movers and shakers from the Lost Map Records roster, plus a few select special guests from near and far. Keep an eye on the Lost Map Facebook, Twitter andInstagram channels for teasers and announcements. Read more about the event in this exclusive interview with Johnny in the The Skinny, who are also running a competition to win a pair of tickets.
