The Lovely Eggs’ head out on tour this week for another round of sensational punk rock gigging, after playing a bunch of sold out dates across the country which included some of their biggest shows to date. The band return to Manchester (this time supporting The Damned) to play Academy 1, as well as heading to Brighton to bring the festivities to Egg’s Xmas Party at Sticky Mike’s Frog Bar, before finishing up their tour at The Musician in Leicester. As well as these new additional shows, The Lovely Eggs will play rescheudled dates in Bristol at The Exchange, and Southhampton at The Joiners.

Take a look back at the band’s on-the-road interview with Louder Than War, touching on musical influences, their DIY ethic, and going on tour with a family:
Lancaster’s The Lovely Eggs have been selling out venues across the country without the help of management, booking agent or record label support. This year they celebrated their 10th anniversary as a band by reissuing their first three albums If You Were Fruit, Cob Dominos and Wildlife on limited edition coloured vinyl. Last year saw them release their critically acclaimed self-produced and self-recorded album This is Our Nowhere: a title which sums up their celebration and love of a scene which doesn’t exist in the eyes of the manufactured mainstream. Ironically the record received 8/10 in the NME (who declared that they were; “One of the country’s most beloved underground bands”), and had much support from BBC 6 Music.
Following on from the fuzzed-out psych tones of the singles “Magic Onion” and “Goofin’ Around (In Lancashire)”, “Drug Braggin’” is yet another raucous punked-up psych trip of nonsensical perfection set in the humdrum of everyday life.  For Holly Ross and David Blackwell being in a band is a way of life. Laughing in the face of life’s absurdities and revelling in the mundane, The Lovely Eggs turn normality on its head, squeezing it through their peculiar surreal mincing machine and blending it with fuzzed out guitar and crashing drums.
“One of the country’s most beloved underground bands. 8/10”- NME
“You won’t hear another band like this anywhere between now and the the end of the millenium. The Lovely Eggs are just brilliant!”- Huw Stephens, Radio One
