Mad Cool Festival 2018 Announce At The Drive-In

news announcement #16

confirmed for Mad Cool 2018

At The Drive In, the post-hardcore cult band founded in 1994, today announce they will play Mad Cool 2018. Recently re-united, the quintet native from El Paso, Texas, will be back in Madrid for the first time in 17 years.

The band currently consists of Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals), Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, vocals), Paul Hinojos (bass), Tony Hajjar (drums) and Keeley Davis (guitar, vocals). They rose to fame with their album ‘Relationship Of Command’ (2000), which soon became one of the cornerstones of post-hardcore.

The band split up in 2001 and Cedric and Omar founded The Mars Volta, while the rest of the members (Paul, Tony and, at that time, Jim Ward) started Sparta. Almost 10 years later (and against all odds) the quintet decide to get together again, but it wasn’t until this 2017 where they surprised us with a new studio album ‘In•ter a•li•a’. But there’s more, coinciding with Record Store Day’s Black Friday, At The Drive In, today release ‘Diamanté’: a new EP with three songs, which was recorded last summer in Hamburg, Germany and produced by Omar Rodríguez-López himself.

Don’t miss out on the legendary return of At The Drive-In
