Madison Bailey shares new single entitled “Raincheck” featuring KAIRO

(New York, NY – June 13, 2025) Turning the page on another bold creative chapter, critically acclaimed actress and buzzing singer-songwriter Madison Bailey shares an emotionally charged new single entitled “Raincheck” featuring KAIRO out now via Republic Records. It marks her first release of 2025 and heralds more music to come. Listen HERE.

On the track, an airy loop gives way to a breezy head-nodding beat accented by soft synths and delicate strains of guitar. Madison wrestles with her insecurities out loud. She admits, “To be honest I’ve been off the rails awhile, getting hard to fake a smile,” going on to ask, “So, can I get a raincheck?” Nigerian-born global pop duo  KAIRO responds on a bouncy verse evocative of the same introspective and irresistible spirit. Together, their energies and vocals entwine in perfect harmony.

Madison capped off 2024 with the fan favorite “Honestly.” Beyond reeling in over 2.4 million Spotify streams, it received critical acclaim. NYLON hailed it as “a darker, moodier song inspired by the heaviness of the news cycle in recent years.” She notably made her debut as an artist with “The Grey” last year. The Hollywood Reporter praised how “Bailey is returning to her first love, sharing her voice with the world.” As part of an in-depth interview, Teen Vogueapplauded “The Grey,” going on to profess, “It reminds me of the pop-R&B hits we used to have in the early 2000s, a very nostalgic, smooth vibe.” WhoWhatWear raved, “Over early 2000s–inspired chords, she sings about the empowering feeling that comes with living in two worlds and standing in her power.”

It’s just the beginning though. Stay tuned for more new music coming from Madison Baileysoon.

About Madison Bailey:
Madison Bailey had quietly waited her whole life for her voice to be heard. Of course, audiences worldwide had already fallen in love with her, thanks to a lead role on the NETFLIX juggernaut Outer Banks and dozens of other roles. However, she had harbored musical ambitions for as long as she can remember. Born in North Carolina, mom and dad adopted Madison early on, and she grew up in a loving family with six older siblings. As soon as she discovered music, she often locked herself in the bathroom and belted out karaoke favorites for hours in addition to performing “shows” in the living room and garage. Simultaneously, she joined every church choir and vocal group possible, while mom entered her into competitions and mall events. After signing to an agency for modeling, she shifted over to acting and launched her career. As an actress, her body of work has spanned Constantine [2015], Mr. Mercedes [2017], Two Roads [2018], Black Lightning [2018, 2019], Creepshow [2019], American Horror Stories [2021], and more. However, she reached critical mass as Kiara “Kie” Carrera in Outer Banks. The latter clinched #1 on NETFLIX’s Top 10 Global English TV List for two weeks and earned over 99 million hours viewed. Other credits have included Paramount’s thriller THE PAINTER and NETFLIX’s horror flick TIME CUT. Expanding her influence across culture, Tommy Hilfiger notably chose her as a “Tommy Girl.” Between shooting seasons of Outer Banks, she found herself with a rare pocket of free time, and she decided to formally pursue music. Now, Madison’s moment has arrived with a series of 2024 singles such as “The Grey” and “Honestly” and her forthcoming debut for Republic Records.

ABOUT KAIRO:
For the global pop duo KAIRO, composed of identical twin brothers Ak and Ej, their moment is now. The brothers were born in Lagos, Nigeria and moved to the United States at 16 months through winning a visa lottery. They grew up performing in their father’s church in Houston with AK on drums, EJ on piano and both singing. And like many first-generation kids, they experienced the duality of balancing their cultural heritage with that of their new home. Nowhere was that more apparent than in their musical tastes. The brothers named themselves KAIRO, which means “the right time” and also happens to be a combination of their first names. Their debut EP ‘Love Letters from Houston’ helped differentiate themselves by focusing on incredibly honest songwriting and cultivating high-energy live shows, including sold out shows at White Oak Music Hall (Houston), Moroccan Lounge (LA), and El Cid (LA). Their debut album ARE WE THERE YET?, which Zane Lowe called, “incredible… alternative meets N.E.R.D.,” represents the next generation of Gen-Z alternative pop groups with rich melodies, lush vocal textures and their signature heart-on-your-sleeve songwriting. Deemed “stars in the making” by Billboard, the twins have been featured on the covers of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Pop and Apple’s New Music Daily. As young Black men and immigrants, KAIRO are aware of their unique position in the music industry. They want to represent expansion: from genre, borders and boundaries.
