“If you want to understand what’s it like to be a teenager in 2018, you should listen to Mallrat” NOTION
Mallrat has shared her video for new single ‘Groceries’. The track is taken from her recently released sophomore EP ‘In The Sky’.The video is the Brisbane star’s own take on the teenage dream as she hangs out on the Australian coast – the perfect backdrop for one of the finest alt-pop anthems of the year. Watch the video here.
‘In The Sky’ is the second EP to come from the Australia based popstar. Her debut release ‘Uninvited’, released back in 2016 saw her plant her flag firmly in the sand, and kick-started her skyrocketing ascent from her humble beginnings as a tween rapper in the Brisbane suburbs. Her refreshingly honest observations of day-to-day life and the awkwardness of being a teenager, and sticky melodies on tracks like ‘For Real’, ‘Uninvited’ and 2017’s single ‘Better’ have captured the hearts and minds of an ever-growing fan base, with demand for her growing across the globe.
The 5 track EP sees her continue to uncover new ground and explore her wholly unique sound. EP opener and current single ‘Groceries’ is her biggest and boldest track so far with her most unkno
wingly catchy melody to date. Across all the tracks on ‘In The Sky’, Mallrat has stepped up her game while still being playfully intelligent with her lyrics and themes. It’s the sign of a young popstar who is growing up and into once of the most exciting new talents around.
