Manchester’s The Falls share fiery new track ‘Loaded Gun’
- JULY 3RD 2026
Manchester’s indie-rock four-piece The Falls are pleased to unveil their powerful new single ‘Loaded Gun’, set for release July 3rd 2026. The track is the third to be taken from their upcoming second studio EP ‘Would You Do It All Over Again’ which arrives on September 18th 2026 via Revo Pro.
Since forming in 2023, The Falls have hit the UK’s indie scene with remarkable momentum, quickly establishing themselves as one of Manchester’s most exciting emerging bands. The band have cultivated a strong live presence, playing key venues UK wide, whilst consistently selling out venues in their hometown of Manchester. February 2026 saw the band play their biggest hometown headline show to date, at Manchester’s iconic Manchester Academy, marking another major milestone in their rise. With demand continuing to grow, their upcoming November headline show at Manchester’s Gullivers sold out in under 24 hours, prompting the addition of a second intimate date at The Castle Hotel.
Their debut EP, Viva La Falls, released in September 2025, has already amassed more than 100,000 streams and earned early support from John Kennedy at Radio X. Drawing influence from The Courteneers, The Kooks and Jake Bugg, The Falls combine soaring guitar hooks, infectious melodies and sharp storytelling into a sound that feels nostalgic yet refreshingly modern.
Produced, mixed and mastered by Luke Owens (SHADE, Montello, The Sprats), ‘Loaded Gun’ is the darkest, most confrontational of their EP’s singles to date, marking a darker turn for the band. Driven by crashing guitars, relentless momentum and emotionally charged lyrics, the track explores guilt, pressure and the inescapable consequences of your mistakes slowly catching up with you. Positioned at the centre of the five-track EP, ‘Loaded Gun’ serves as a pivotal moment in the record’s narrative, marking a shift from the lighter, more escapist themes of earlier tracks towards darker and more unpredictable territory. The shift is structural and deliberate, from a band that thinks architecturally about their records, understanding that emotion in music is not just about the individual songs but about the journey between them.
The roots of ‘Loaded Gun’ trace back to a scene from Martin Scorsese’s crime masterpiece ‘The Departed’. In the scene, mob boss Frank Costello played by Jack Nicholson at his most menacing, confronts a young Colin Sullivan about the choices that await him. The loaded gun of the title is not a weapon, but a metaphor; No matter which path you take, the outcome is already written and the bullet is already in the chamber. Harrison took this idea and turned it inward, building a song about confronting your mistakes and the feeling that, no matter how far you run, your mistakes will eventually catch up with you.
Speaking on the track, vocalist and lyricist Harrison Sharp says, “‘Loaded Gun’ is probably one of our darker, more rocky tracks and brings back a similar sound to some of our earliest releases. It’s based on a line from Martin Scorsese’s film The Departed, one of my favourite films. It’s from a scene where mob boss Frank Costello, played by Jack Nicholson, talks to a young Matt Damon about life choices; whatever you choose, the outcome will be the same. No matter how far you try to run from your problems they always find a way to catch you, there is no escape. ‘Loaded Gun’ is a story of confrontation of toxic relationships, of being trapped in something with no way out. It’s a song we’ve been playing live for a long time, so we’re buzzing to finally get it out there properly.”
‘Loaded Gun’ is due for release July 3rd 2026 and will be available on all major streaming platforms.
