Post punk enigma, Mark Stewart is set to release a new single, the second release from current album ‘The Politics Of Envy’, on the Future Noise Music label on the 1st of October 2012.
‘Stereotype’ features Factory Floor’s Nik Void and former PiL guitarist Keith Levene and will be available as download and limited edition double vinyl with a host of remixes from Hype Williams, Daniel B. ‘Front 242’, Perc, Chicago Footwork maestro Chrissy Murderbot and Italoconnection.
The accompanying video, in which both Stewart and Void take part, is a stunning visual piece that captures the intensity of their duet perfectly. It was directed by Danish film and documentary maker Orla Fokdal who said “Mark is so inspiring and far from any stereotype that as soon as I was told the title of the track I knew I wanted to do it.”
An effortless modern pop classic, on which Levene unleashes his inimitable full metal jangle, and Nik Void’s vocals are a perfect counterpart to an uncharacteristically understated Stewart on a slice of gorgeously – melancholic brilliance.
To coincide with the release Mark Stewart is set to play a London headline show at Village Underground with very special guests, electronic three – piece, Factory Floor on Thursday the 27th of September 2012.
