MIXMAG PROCLAIMS MARLON HOFFSTADT
“A DEFINING DJ OF THE NOW” IN THIS COVER STORY

Today, DJ/producer Marlon Hoffstadt, AKA DJ Daddy Trance, shared the official video for his new single, “Breathe.” Directed by Shane Boyer and Jack Delulio, the evocative video captures a day in the life of a group of friends who came of age together in Los Angeles. They were presented with a camcorder and a challenge: “If you’d only have 24 hours with your friends, what would you do?” The resulting video is a kinetic, contemplative and joyful time capsule of their friendship. View HERE.

Released via Capitol Records, “Breathe” is an exuberant track that captures a sense of the endless possibilities that lie ahead. Listen to “Breathe” HERE.

After making his Coachella debut during Weekend 1, Marlon Hoffstadt brought the rave to the Sahara stage again last Friday. Rather than relying on special effects or an oversized visual production, he is creating the environment he loves most: speaker stacks, club energy and a dancefloor wrapped around the DJ booth. With room for more than 200 ravers on stage, he is inviting festival-goers to step inside the party and experience the set from his side of the decks. Fans can apply for a spot in the rave ahead of the show, with selected participants helping transform Coachella into Daddy Valley. As captured in thisvideo clip, Marlon Hoffstadt closed out Weekend 1 by playing a surprise B2B set with Anyma in the Do LaB last Sunday. LISA of BLACKPINK, who has also established herself as a solo artist, joined them on stage when Anyma played his new single “Bad Angel,” which features LISA on vocals.

The summer will find Marlon Hoffstadt playing a mixture of headline shows and festivals around the world. See below for itinerary. Tickets are available HERE. He recently made his Ultra Miami debut, performing on the Main Stage, playing a B2B set with Armin van Buuren. He also spoke with DJ Mag at the festival.

In this feature, METAL observes, “There is a deliberate sincerity to his work; he avoids hiding behind irony to push a sonic idea. This is also central to ‘Breathe’, a euphoric yet quietly melancholic track that mirrors the atmosphere Hoffstadt creates in his sets; moments where the dance floor opens up, not just physically, but emotionally.” Mixmaghailed Marlon Hoffstadt as “a global dance phenomenon, a defining DJ of the now” in this recent cover story, which traces his rise. Check out his Cover Mix HERE, which he calls “a proper old school set that is a tribute to the sound that shaped DJ Daddy Trance.”

Playing clubs in his home city of Berlin from the age of 15, the perpetually smiling DJ has been on fire since 2020, when he reinvented himself as DJ Daddy Trance and started breaking all the rules of the scene that raised him. Whether he’s teasing new material in his sets, uploading new tracks to SoundCloud unannounced, or unexpectedly dropping five new tracks at once, (like he did with his All Yours EP), his music always feels like a loving dialog with his hardcore fans.

Marlon Hoffstadt closed out 2025 with a flurry of releases, including remixes of Robyn’s “Dopamine” and BNYX®️ and Kid Cudi’s “Everywhere I Go (Remind Me),”  “Hold You Close” with Peter Xan and his collaboration with Mark Ronson on a flip of “Rumore” for the film Jay Kelly, which starred George Clooney and Adam Sandler. More recently, he and Hannah Laing unveiled their collaboration, “Stomp Your Feet” (with Caroline Roxy).
