Max Cooper announces remix challenge
BIGGEST EVER HEADLINE 3D/AV SHOW CONFIRMED FOR O2 BRIXTON ACADEMY, LONDON ON 29TH OCTOBER
““A Model of Reality” is one of the tracks from Unspoken Words that could go in a number of different directions which I toyed with during the writing phase – so I’m looking forward to experiencing what you can make from it,” says Max Cooper. “And if you don’t feel you have all the skills to deliver your ambition, why not offer to collaborate with someone in the Discord channel?”
Very much a creative challenge than a competition, Mesh intend to share all of the entries in a Roundtable Conversation in September. The label will also host a “How I Make a Remix” session with Alex Banks and Llyr on 18th August.
“In January, we started the Mesh Discord to build a community because we want to be more collaborative and open, giving opportunities to anyone who wants them,” explains James Palmer-Bullock of The Wild Seeds, who represent Max Cooper and Mesh. “We call it a “challenge” because “competitions” are adversarial. But we want to build community.”
“Music has become an industrialised process, and the electronic dance music scene started as a community, but has become a bit competitive. We’re working to rewire that – the way we think and work can be healthier and more inclusive.”
Newcomers can join the Mesh Discord HERE; while existing members can access the stems HERE.
Cooper recently announced his biggest ever headline event, as he takes his brand new surround 3D/A/V show to O2 Brixton Academy, London on 29th October. Using a larger canvas than ever before, it promises to be an even more spectacular night than his triumphant sold-out show at the Roundhouse earlier this year.
The event has secured a late license, meaning fans can party until 4AM, and it’s anticipated to have much more of a rave-feel than Cooper’s previous A/V shows. Click HERE for tickets.

His work carries an emotional resonance and sensory immersion, often focusing on humanity’s place in the world. He merges electronic music and visual art with scientific enquiry through installations, live performance, immersive audio-visual experiences, a range of digital media and award-winning music videos.
Unspoken Words is Cooper’s 6th studio album and his most revealing work to date, leading the listener through experiences of escapism and connection with personal stories of reflection, acceptance, grappling, idealism and rejection.
The raw expression of Cooper’s own mental state illuminates the universal experience of being human. Unspoken Words offers common ground, a unifying space for anyone who faces internal discordance and feels the need for greater connection and greater expression.
He recently supplied the music for a powerful video narrated by Greta Thunberg and Pope Francis and played at COP26, urging world leaders to consider climate and environment in Covid recovery plans. Last year, he became the first techno artist to play at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.
His label, Mesh, is keenly placed to explore the intersection of music, art and science through interdisciplinary creative collaborations that blur lines between art, mathematics, film, choreography, sciences, architecture, psychology and spirituality.
