LISTEN: Max Subar – “Blue And Green”
“Steady plucking of acoustic strings introduce whispy vocals, creating a pleasant condensation of emotion.”
– All Things Go
“Morning Song” drenches your ears in its lightweight beauty.”
Chicago-based singer-songwriter Max Subar shares his second single “Blue And Green” via All Things Go. When talking about the track Subar states, “Green and Blue refers to an actual place in the suburbs of Chicago, where a wide open prairie meets Lake Michigan. I wrote the song in the Summer of 2013, when returning from my second year of college in Los Angeles, and visiting the forest preserve frequently. The serenity of that place had allowed me to reach a strangely overwhelming sense of peace and comfort: one that I hadn’t felt for a while, and leaving a lasting impact.” Prior to this single Max released the track “Morning Song” on Impose. Both songs will be featured on his debut EP ‘In A Dream’ out 4/28.
Singer/songwriter Max Subar aims to remain bound to his midwestern roots with songs that radiate closeness and warmth. Growing up, his mother’s old nylon guitar became a familiar friend in the wake of moving to Australia and back as well as his parents’ divorce. Max’s grounded relationship to songwriting has helped shed light on his own experiences and struggles; from euphoric intimacy to the isolation of depression and anxiety. His debut EP reflects upon themes of love, loss, and reflection. ‘In a Dream’ is due out in the first quarter of 2017. ‘In a Dream’ is due out April 28, 2017.
