Share New Single ‘No. 28’

Announce 2017 Live Dates

Methyl Ethel have shared their first new music in eighteen months – the striking new single ‘No. 28’. Produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Foals), in collaboration with the Perth trio’s frontman Jake Webb it is accompanied by a touching and evocative visual created by Olivier Groulx, plus details of tour dates for 2017.

Written and recorded by Webb, ‘No. 28’ finds Methyl Ethel embracing new sounds, thanks in part to London-based Ford, who has been working with Webb on the follow-up to debut album Oh Inhuman Spectacle (originally released in Australia back in the summer of 2015). The pair’s collaboration has infused their shoegaze dream-pop palate with electronic flourishes, further evolving Methyl Ethel’s sound from initial EPs ‘Guts’ and ‘Teeth’. For the official video, Methyl Ethel renewed their creative partnership with filmmaker Olivier Groulx (he produced the stunning visuals for ‘Idée Fixe’).
