Mick Dimitri release haunting new single ‘Every Story’!
“The opening lines “Every Story has an ending, every story has to end” are pretty unequivocal. Every Story talks about the end of a relationship. The visual draws a lot from Orson Welles’ work, in particular his Othello, which compared to other film depictions has a much darker tone.”
The track features the winners of The Voice US 2021, Girl Named Tom and is a stripped back, sparse piece of songwriting that offers no hiding place for the performers, Produced and arranged by Mick himself, Every Story opens with sombre piano notes juxtaposed with Bekah Liechty‘s rich, emotive vocal, as Mick’s smooth, soulful vocal offers a satisfying harmony to the song.
Having been introduced in March 2020 by Ed Sheeran’s mentor and Nizlopi frontman, Luke Concannon, Mick and Girl Named Tom immediately hit it off. Both struggling to adapt to the confines of the pandemic, they instantly became friends bonding over music. Mick shared his track with the band, leading to singer Bekah Liechty lending her stunning vocal to the song. The depth of Bekah’s delivery gave Every Story a whole new meaning. Fast forward 12 months and Girl Named Tom would be crowned winners of The Voice US, adding yet another layer of intrigue to a track that had continuously evolved over a two year period.
Every Story is due for release on now.
