The Minx boys are rocketing forwards, the release their new single, the already strong crowd-favourite ‘No Friends’. The song has been tweaked a little by multi-award-winning producer Cenzo Townshend previously worked with Florence + The Machine, Franz Ferdinand, Vaccines and a good few more. No Friends is backed well by B-side, ‘Jesus and The Mary Chain’.
If positivity and upbeat sounding audio is your thing, the new wave akin sound of The Minx should catch your notice, immediate and snappy delivery of a negative statement with mainly vocal with retro key accenting over subdued percussion and backing melody.
Where as ‘Jesus and The Mary Chain’ does not set the literary world alight but name checks worthy bands, in a more beefed up at the least flavoured from They Might Be Giants songbook if mixed early day Talking Heads tuneage.
Bt ultimately The Minx are happy ploughing their pink friendly soundscape, which without ant too much reflection, I’m assured is very good thing, they’re effective. 9/10
