MISTER G Headlines Virtual Climate Action Rally for Moms Clean Air Force

For the past five years, MISTER G – the Latin GRAMMY Award-winning musician, author, activist, and educator – has headlined a “Play In” concert on the National Mall for children and families from all 50 states. With the Capitol building in the background, this annual event is part of an environmental movement organized by Moms Clean Air Force, a coalition of more than a million parents around the country who are fighting for clean air and climate action on behalf of their children. The families have traditionally traveled to Washington where they receive training, participate in a rally, and then head up to the Capitol to advocate for clean air protections with their congressional representatives.
This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the “Play In” will be presented as a virtual event, broadcast live from the historic Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 12 at 2PM ET.
Headlined by MISTER G, the event features guest appearances by several congressional representatives, who answer questions from children about the climate crisis. The event will also feature the live debut of MISTER G’s music video “Washing Our Hands,” which includes crowd-sourced footage of kids and families from all over the country. With a funky rhythm and danceable groove, the song aims to turn hand washing into a celebratory ritual.

The event will be co-hosted by Moms Clean Air Force’s Mollie Michel and her 11-year-old daughter Caia Farrell, from their home in Philadelphia. MISTER G will be joined on stage by the celebrated Chilean vocalist, Claudia Acuna, who appears on MISTER G’s latest album Children Of The World. Released in August, the COVID era recording features musicians from five continents and fourteen countries.
