Vancouver’s post-punk revivalists, Mode Moderne, unleash a throwback 120 Minutes homage for their first single, “She, Untamed,” from their imminent album, Occult Delight. Director Daniel Rincon continues Mode Moderne’s gloom aesthetic with fuzzed-out, white noise, analogue footage of the band performing with frontman Philip Intilé’s psychedelic zombie mime character running amok throughout. Certainly a must-see if you still have a crush on Edward Scissorhands or Helena Bonham-Carter.

From Mode Moderne’s Philip Intilé: “The cat who made our record, Joshua Stevenson, picked up an original analogue video synth at a garage sale and we had to use it. It’s great, we love it. It was Daniel Rincon’s (the director) idea to use face paint and for me to use a headset microphone. Sean wore a dress. We ate snacks.”

Occult Delight will be released by Light Organ Records on January 21, 2014. Occult Delight is the follow up to Light Organ’s 2012 release Strange Bruises and the band’s independent 2009 release Ghosts Emerging.
