Montreal-based Mind Bath returns with a new single “Acid Nine”, marking his first release of 2026. A vocalist, producer, writer, performer and DJ, he is a shapeshifting storyteller whose work blurs the boundaries between music, literature and myth.
Recorded during a residency at Camp Flirty, a secluded, gay cabin in the woods, “Acid Nine” highlights his left-field production and intimate vocal style, further cementing his status as an underground favourite, with a practice rooted as much in spiritual devotion as it is in sonic exploration.
“Acid Nine” is a “ritualistic piece of music,” explains Mind Bath. “The portal opener. You are led by erotic, ecstatic energy, cultivating deeper listening. Horns are blowing. Spirits are filtering out of the woods in hoodies and cloaks and leather. The angels are dancing naked. You walk together in the oneness, winding up slowly like incense smoke, strumming guitars. I call in the ancestors at 1:09, singing: ‘Those who came before us, with futuristic love.’”
Mind Bath first received critical acclaim with his 2019 debut album Baby You Can Free Your Mind, described by PAPER Magazine as “soft, emotional, and stirring.” He has also received further support from The FADER, Highsnobiety, Vice, Clash, and Gorilla vs. Bear, among others. His music has received multiple spins on BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Future R&B program with Jamz Supernova, and he has opened for Milk & Bone and Moses Sumney.
Since then, Mind Bath has continued to create a distinct body of work that cultivates deeper listening and transformation. Watch this space as Mind Bath enters a new era.
