My Morning Jacket and Snarky Puppy Nominated for 2016 Grammys®

Yesterday, December 7th, the nominees for the 2016 Grammy® Awards were announced. My Morning Jacket was nominated for Best Alternative Music Album for The Waterfall and Snarky Puppy was nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album for Sylva. We here at Girlie Action Media were honored to have worked on both of these campaigns and would like to extend our sincere congratulations to both artists!
The 58th Grammy Awards will air on February 15 only on CBS.

The Waterfall Nominated for Best Alternative Music Album
My Morning Jacket is thrilled and honored to be nominated for a Grammy® Award for their critically acclaimed album The Waterfall in the category of Best Alternative Music Album. Their seventh studio album was recorded at Panoramic House Studio in beautiful Stinson Beach, CA, and released on May 4 via Capitol/ATO Records. After the release of the record in May, My Morning Jacket embarked on a worldwide tour which ended with a sold out, four-night run at New York City’s legendary Beacon Theatre.

Snarky Puppy
Sylva Nominated for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album
The Grammy Winning instrumental collective, Snarky Puppy, led by bassist, composer and producer Michael League, released their first major label album Sylva on 5/26 on Impluse!/Universal Music Classics. Sylva was recorded and filmed live in its entirety with the Metropole Orkest (Elvis Costello, Tori Amos and John Scofield). In addition to being nominated for a Best Contemporary Instrumental Album 2016 GRAMMY, the record reached #1on the Heatseekers Chart, #1 Top Current Jazz Album, and #1 Contemporary Jazz Album.
