Canadian indie rockers Mother Mother have released their latest album Very Good Bad Thing today, available NOW on iTunes via Def Jam Recordings. Exclusive album bundle packages including an online-exclusive T-shirt, CD, digital download, and a postcard signed by the band are also available HERE.
The band recently shared their live take of lead single “Monkey Tree” and in celebration of the album’s release, the band will host a Google Hangout at 3pm EST today! Catch the band beginning in May as they kick off a massive headlining tour hitting New York, LA, Chicago, Washington DC and many more, and including festival appearances at Sasquatch, Firefly and SummerFest. Much like the band members themselves, each song on Very Good Bad Thing has its own distinct personality. Where lead single “Monkey Tree” ambles brightly as its feral message to let go of technology and embrace your inner animal unfolds, “Modern Love” offers a weightless chorus that shimmers with anticipation, and stripped down track “Reaper Man” builds to a sinful, throbbing apex.
Mother Mother is not just a Canadian phenom. The band—which includes frontman Ryan Guldemond, singer-keyboardist Jasmin Parkin, bassist Jeremy Page, drummer Ali Siadat, and Ryan’s sister, singer-keyboardist Molly Guldemond—has toured the U.S. extensively, including dates with Imagine Dragons and AWOLNATION. Produced by Gavin Brown (Metric, 3 Days Grace), who was instrumental in indulging the bands countless ideas by distilling with a singular vision, Very Good Bad Thing follows the band’s desire to expand their soundscapes and continue their creative progression.
