‘VERY GOOD BAD THING’ AVAILABLE IN THE US APRIL 7TH!
Canadian indie rockers Mother Mother have signed to Def Jam Recordings in the states and will release the new album Very Good Bad Thing April 7th!
Following a massively successful album launch at home in Canada (which sees the band/album nominated for three 2015 Junos including Group Of The Year, and resulted in the band becoming one of the most played on Canadian alternative radio), Mother Mother’s latest studio effort is an edgy, synth-heavy, club-driven alt record filled with massive hooks and undeniable energy.
The follow-up to 2012’s Juno-nominated album The Sticks, Very Good Bad Thing sees Mother Mother expanding its sonic palate to integrate electronic and rock elements while delving deep into the complexities of the human condition in all its tragic, conflicting nature.
Behind the gauzy male-female vocal harmonies, angular guitar lines and infectious rhythms lies something deeper and darker, as is the band’s trademark.
“It’s the person, the humanoid…that’s the very good bad thing,” explains vocalist/guitarist Ryan Guldemond.
Recorded with Juno-winning producer Gavin Brown (Metric, Billy Talent, Three Days Grace) at his Noble Street studio in Toronto, Very Good Bad Thing is the next logical step in Mother Mother’s sonic evolution.
