“The last thing I need is someone who adores me. The last thing I need… is you”. Mourning Birds; New video: ‘The Last Thing (I Need)’ and Debut album available on Monday 29th June
Sam Mitchell (drums/vocals ), Jimmy Gilder (guitar/vocals) and Bill Williams (bass guitar) are a hard working/smoking trio of Medway gutter punks with a plethora of bluesy, punchy garage anthems in their arsenal.
Since they arrived on the scene at the end of 2013, every free download, video or release has received amazing feedback from music fans and multiple accolades in national, international and independent media. In short, this album already comes highly recommended.
In 2014 and 2015 their adventures have called in at landmark gigs, festival slots, supports with Slaves, Little Matador and Bad For Lazarus via some surreal moments that include a two minute gig, motorbike accident, mad dogs (and some alcohol).
Last summer they got a label deal with P-Vine Records of Japan. In Autumn they recorded these tracks at Foel Studios in Wales with Rhys Downing, the producer responsible for recognising their potential and translating raw live chaos into their anthemic releases.
Having impressed Japan with credible, authentic new classic British rock, on it’s release, the Mourning Birds album unleashes their montage of what the heck for the UK on 29th June via iTunes. A real working class rock n roll tale of engaging entertainers, they’ve developed into contenders since busking White Stripes songs to train passengers a couple of years ago. Trailer video ‘The Last Thing (I Need)’ by Steve James/2 Steaks, sets the scene for their album’s release, perfectly.
