NEW FROM MUTE

London-based, Australian-born producer, songwriter and DJ, HAAi (aka Teneil Throssell) has shared a new track, ‘Ignition (feat Echonomist)’, the latest to be taken from her dancefloor-focussed album, DIGITiSE, out on 9 October 2026 on Mute.

‘Ignition (feat. Echonomist)’ is a high energy crystalline track that steers the listener into an intense four-to-the-floor banger.

HAAi explains, “‘Echonomist is someone whose music has shaped many of my sets since I started touring. Sonically, it’s a driving broken beat track that maintains a lot of innocence. Lyrically, it is deeply personal: documenting my coming-of-age as a queer kid in a small town, desperate to leave.”

Australian-Mexican duo Mick Harvey & Amanda Acevedo have shared a new track, ‘Song for Aurora’, the latest taste of what to expect from their forthcoming album, Psychedelia in White.

‘Song for Aurora’ is woven from a pastiche of T-Rex lyrics with music composed by The Dirty Three’s Mick Turner, acting as a kind of homage to Marc Bolan. Amanda describes the imagery in the lyrics to be “a perfect match for (our) psychedelic theme”

The new album – recorded primarily in Australia and mixed in Chile by Alain Johannes – is out on 4 September 2026 on white vinyl, CD and digitally, and will be followed by a tour with Mercury Rev in UK / Europe and a headline tour in Sweden and Norway, finishing at The 100 Club in London on 4 November

hackedepicciotto have released LICHTUNG, an electronically rich and structurally adventurous record that honours the German language.

On the album, the pair step beyond the familiar pull of repetitive drones, exploring more complex sound structures and uncharted electronic terrains. Recorded in their new home, the process was as demanding as it was creatively rewarding. They embraced experimentation with new textures, while Danielle returned to the piano, an instrument she had long missed, finding new ways to express herself.

Mindfully written in German as a nod to the language of their surroundings, the lyrics are a loving gesture that firmly anchors this Berlin-born record.

REISSUES & RESTOCKS

Mute – in conjunction with Threshold House – have partnered to release four early, often overlooked, works by Coil – remastered and released with restored artwork, previously unseen imagery and new sleeve notes.

The series launches with 1987’s Gold Is The Metal (With The Broadest Shoulders), the third in a trilogy that began with Scatology and Horse Rotorvator. Where Scatology and Horse Rotorvator are revered, the period immediately after is sometimes skipped over, but these years were enormously potent moments in their history, ones where sex and sexuality, as core engines of their work, were cast under increasing shadow by homophobia and the fear of AIDS, both of which were deliberately fanned and propagated by the mainstream media.

Released in October 1987, CODE is the eighth studio album by the Sheffield electronic band Cabaret Voltaire. Co-produced with dub mastermind Adrian Sherwood, the record marked a shift toward a more synth-pop and mechanistic funk sound and was their most commercially successful album.

Mute’s remastered reissue will be available on clear green marbled vinyl, Deluxe 3xCD and as two digital versions – the original 9 track remastered album and a deluxe edition featuring remixes from the time along with some unearthed previously unreleased remixes.

A CERTAIN RATIO celebrate two anniversaries this year: 45 years since they went into Revolution Studios in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport to record Sextet (1982) and 40 years since the release of the 1986 album Force – and mark the occasion with companion releases for each of the albums out on 28 August, and an anniversary tour in October.

In October 2026, ACR will be hitting the road to celebrate these anniversaries. The tour – which kicks off on 7 October in Birmingham, includes a date at London Dingwalls on 9 Oct and finishes at Manchester’s Band on the Wall on 24 October – will see both albums played in full, with an interval in between, and some surprises thrown in.
