‘SAY NOTHING’ FT. EMERSON LEIF
OUT AUGUST 10TH VIA OF LEISURE/VIRGIN EMI
It’s a special moment when an artist transitions from ‘one to watch’ to becoming recognized by the global industry; and that moment is now for Sydney electronic beatmaker MUTO. Following on from a breakthrough six months, the young producer is set to make international waves with his new single ‘Say Nothing’.
Listen to ‘Say Nothing’ HERE
Late last year, his instrumental rollercoaster ‘Through The Fog’ garnered cult-like support in Australia, highlighted by overwhelming support from Triple J (2nd most played track of the week), on top of consistent rotation on a plethora of other stations. This then led to his recent emotionally driven ‘Wildfire’. Now, with news of his debut 7- track EP coming in October, MUTO has delivered his most accessible work to date with new single, ‘Say Nothing’.
A synthetic journey wrapped in warmth, ‘Say Nothing’ contains a masterfully crafted groove. With a slightly more 4/4 percussive influence, MUTO’s ability to find light and shade in his production is met perfectly with the dark and mellow tones of Brisbane vocalist Emerson Leif. Embodied by its own subtleties, ‘Say Nothing’ carries an air of confidence and understated sensualness that resonates throughout the lyrics and production, leaving the listener with an indirect feeling of distant nostalgia.
In line with the release of the single, MUTO is embarking on a giant run of shows, including a headline run across Australia and a handpicked support slot around Europe with electronic powerhouses ODESZA in October. Culminating in a whopping 30 shows (tour dates below) across the next three months, MUTO’s presence on stage, just like his musical reputation, is rising rapidly.
With a debut EP set for release, a global tour booked and his new single being worked by a global team, it’s set to be a wonderful end to 2017 for MUTO.
