Natalie Imbruglia is fully underway following a big reaction to her recent single ‘Upside Down’

‘Algorithm’ is perhaps Natalie’s most ambitious song to date: a bold slice of electronic pop inspired by her own scrolling addiction. With dark, crunching synths evoking Depeche Mode, the track finds Natalie shifting between an alluring siren’s call and an enigmatic, Bowie-esque drawl.
Natalie co-produced and co-wrote the single with MyRiot (London Grammar, Primal Scream). She says, “It’s like you’ve opened one trapdoor and you’re falling endlessly through one after another. I’m a deeply spiritual person, so the title comes from a place of real concern for the world we’re living in. We’re in a dark place and psychological warfare is being waged upon us. We need to talk about that and where our thoughts are going. This is about sparking that conversation.”
That creativity extends across the rest of the record, as she co-produced and co-wrote every song that features on it. What’s more, it has also been a real labour of love with Natalie having full creative freedom having personally financed its release via her own label, Landgirl Records. The result is an album on which she sounds reinvigorated, fearless and fully in command of her own story – a natural evolution from her chart-topping, BRIT-winning and multi-million sales success of her first chapter. It’s also one that lives up to acclaim from the current generations of artists such as Olivia Rodrigo, who cited Natalie as an influence and invited her onstage to perform ‘Torn’ alongside her.
Natalie’s other collaborators on the album also include Fraser T Smith (Adele, Dave, Stormzy, Sam Smith), Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, Anu Pillai (Lewis Capaldi, Lana Del Rey), Tobie Tripp (Michael Kiwanuka, Joy Crookes), David Sneddon (Lana Del Rey), Dan Priddy (Bastille) and Mark Crew (Bastille, Rag’n’Bone Man) and Romeo Stodart (Magic Numbers).
The ‘Algorithm’ album is available to pre-order or pre-save HERE. It is available on CD, Deluxe CD, black vinyl, deluxe purple vinyl with a bonus 7” single and all digital platforms.
