NATIVES post the video for new single ‘Ghost’
NATIVES post the video for new single, ‘Ghost’, released on Transmission Recordings on May 25th.
“Ghost was one of the first tracks we wrote for the album,” says guitarist Jack Fairbrother, “we wanted a chorus which sonically sounded as euphoric as the lyrics, which are about that free feeling when you finally let go of the ghost of mistakes you’ve made in the past. Musically, we took some influence from 80’s rock bands with big open chords in the verses, we were listening to a lot of The Police at the time and I think that shines through in the guitars.”
Natives are a band who have learned their trade the old way; through years of touring the UK toilet circuit in a transit van on it’s last legs, sleeping on floors and gradually building an extremely loyal fan base. Slowly making the transition from playing to nobody but the sound man in the back rooms of dingy pubs to filling the UK’s smaller venues at their own headline shows – no small feat.

‘Indoor War’ was released to critical acclaim in March, with HMV picking the band as one of their ‘Tips for 2014’, while VEVO picked the quintet as one of their DSCVR bands, with a session going live on April 22nd:
‘Ghost’ will be officially debuted April 12th on XFM’s Propaganda show ahead of it’s May 25th release.
