NECK DEEP DEBUT ALBUM ‘WISHFUL THINKING‘ OUT JANUARY 2014
• DEBUT ALBUM ‘WISHFUL THINKING‘ OUT JANUARY 2014
• FIRST SINGLE ‘CRUSHING GRIEF (NO REMEDY)’ & FAN-CENTRIC VIDEO OUT NOW
• UK HEADLINE TOUR DATES
NECK DEEP have announced that their debut full length, ‘Wishful Thinking’, will see worldwide release via HOPELESS RECORDS on January 13, 2014. The album is now available for pre-order; fans can view bundles, including some limited collector’s packages at hopelessrecords.com/neckdeep
“We’re very excited to get the ball rolling on all things ‘Wishful Thinking’,” says vocalist Ben Barlow; “We put everything into the writing and recording this album and we’re all very proud of what we have created, but now comes the really incredible part: finally getting to share our efforts with people!”
The album’s first single, ‘Crushing Grief (No Remedy)’ is also released today via iTunes, along with a high-energy video compiled from fan submitted footage. “The song deals with getting out from under, about moving on from a bad place,” explains Barlow; “So, we posted on our social networks asking people to send in videos of what makes them happy – whether that be a certain place or activity, whatever helps them through hard times. We were blown away by the number of responses and the spirit in which the clips were made. We think the video really captures the soul of what this track is about.”

Last but not least, Neck Deep have also revealed UK & North American tour dates. The UK dates in January 2014 will be the band’s first homeland headliner, and will include two official release shows for ‘Wishful Thinking’, in London and their hometown of Wrexham. The North American dates, which run from February – April, will be the quintet’s debut full N.A outing, following a wildly successful pair of impromptu shows in Florida earlier this year during a band vacation to theme parks.
The UK shows will see the band joined by Eastbourne pop punk crew ROAM, and stateside Neck Deep will team up with Knuckle Puck and Light Year. But before these runs, the band will join labelmates The Wonder Years on their November UK dates, perform at Vans Warped Tour UK at Alexandra Palace in London, and undertake a headline trek of Australia. “When we formed Neck Deep a year or so ago we were just excited to play a handful of shows across the local area here and there, maybe a few weekends away,” says Barlow; “The fact that we’re now looking at UK and Australian headliners, and shows all across North America is just absolutely surreal – we still can’t quite believe it’s happening, but we all know we can’t wait!”
