Annie Booth – Solitude
Release Date – 24th November 2017
Continuing to ride the wave of aplomb her debut album An Unforgiving Light has generated, Annie Booth brings forward her latest single to be taken from the album. Proudly presented once more in partnership by Scottish Fiction and Last Night From Glasgow, Solitude will be released digitally and on limited edition artwork print on 24th November 2017.
A much more private and reflective affair than previous singles, on Solitude there’s a honest beauty to the lyrics – “solitude, my oldest friend” – which Annie delivers with graceful perfection. Haunting guitars surround the vocals bringing fleeting moments of meloncholy, while the sparse percussion reinforce the introspectiveness of the track; like the padding of feet along the shore late at night.
In releasing this single we’ve been incredibly lucky to team up with artist and musician Laurence Made Me Cry (Jo Whitby), who provided an incredible support set at Annie’s album launches in October. Having been long time fans of Jo’s work, she has produced a hand drawn delicate illustration for Solitude, which channels the emotion and meaning of the music perfectly. This will be available for purchase as a limited edition, hand numbered and signed A5 heavyweight print, complete with download code for Solitude.
