Producer, rapper, vocalist and songwriter Donae’O releases his new mixtape ‘sixteen’ on June 30th. A pioneer of UK street sounds, ‘sixteen’ represents sixteen years in the business, from his seminal UK garage cut ‘My Philosophy (Bounce)’ back in 2002, to his recent banger ‘Black’ ft. JME and Dizzee Rascal and signing his major record deal with Island Records.
‘sixteen’ includes guest appearances from the cream of UK urban music, including Wretch 32, Shakka, Cadet, Louis Rei and more. “I wanted to put out something to encapsulate me signing to Island Record after sixteen year,” says Donae’O. His collaboration with Belly Squad and Young T & Bugsey ‘Let Me’ got its first play on Julie Adenuga’s Beats 1 Radio show.
With festival season in full swing, this past weekend saw Donae’O smashing down three stages at Glastonbury, including BBC Music Introducing Stage with Annie Mac. Donae’O’s latest single ‘Whole Life’ ft. Fredo is out now, check out the Morgan Keyz directed video which premiered exclusively on Pigeons & Planes.
